La actividad literaria y su dimensión más pública a través del espectáculo siempre estuvo muy estrechamente ligada al poder real, especialmente durante la Edad Media. Repasamos aquí aquellos escritores que hicieron su obra bajo los auspicios de la corte catalano-aragonesa a fines del siglo xiv, con los últimos reyes de la dinastía autóctona, y durante el siglo xv, bajo la nueva estirpe de los Trastámara: Bernat Metge, Ausiàs March, Joanot Martorell, Pere Miquel Carbonell, y sobre todo aquellas manifestaciones espectaculares que sirvieron como instrumento de exaltación y propaganda de la monarquía reinante, particularmente el despliegue urbano de Entrada Real y los espectáculos palaciegos de Fiesta de Coronación ; Th e public dimension of literature, at its most evident, when displayed as spectacle, was undeniably bound to royal power, especially during the Middle Ages. Th is work looks at some of the writers who started working under royal patronage at the fourteenth-century Catalan-Aragonese court, and those who worked under the last kings in the autonomous dynasty as well as during the fi fteenth century, under the new Trastamara lineage: Bernat Metge, Ausiàs March, Joanot Martorell and Pere Miquel Carbonell. Particular attention is also given to those spectacles which were used as a political tool to exalt and broadcast the power of the reigning monarchies, especially some urban propaganda instruments as the Royal Entrance and the palace spectacles at the Coronation Feast.

The fall of Constantinople in 1453 gave John of Segovia (ca. 1393-1458) and Nicholas of Cusa (1401-1464) the opportunity to resume their old friendship initiated during the Council of Basel. Their common interest in Islam lead them in some of their writings to search solutions to the threat of Turkish military power for the Christian religion. In their effort to achieve a peaceful understanding through dialogue, they show an optimistic confidence in reason. "Deutschland befindet sich seit nunmehr ca. drei Jahrzehnten in einem Geburten-Tiefstand. Seit Mitte der 70er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts kann infolge niedriger Geburtenzahlen der Ersatz der Elterngeneration nicht mehr gewährleistet werden. Derzeitig nimmt Deutschland innerhalb der westeuropäischen Länder mit 1,34 Geburten je Frau hinter Italien (1,23) und Spanien (1,25) den drittletzten Platz ein. Aber auch innerhalb Deutschlands sind regionale Unterschiede im Geburtenniveau gegeben. Betrachtet man allein das Jahr 2003, so liegt das westdeutsche Bundesland Niedersachsen mit 1427 Geburten je 1000 Frauen im gebärfähigen Alter (15 bis unter 50 Jahre) am weitesten über dem Bundesdurchschnitt von 1340. Außer Hessen weisen auch die übrigen westdeutschen Länder ein über dem Durchschnitt liegendes Geburtenniveau auf. Dies trifft jedoch nicht für das Saarland und die Stadtstaaten Berlin, Bremen und Hamburg zu. Deren Geburtenziffern unterscheiden sich kaum von denen der ostdeutschen Länder, die insgesamt im Bundesvergleich sehr niedrig sind. So wurden z. B. in Sachsen-Anhalt im Jahr 2003 je 1000 Frauen 215 Kinder weniger als in Niedersachsen geboren. Insgesamt gesehen muss man feststellen, dass in den alten Bundesländern im Vergleich zu den Neuen Ländern die Zahl der Geburten je Frauen im Allgemeinen höher liegt. Ausschlaggebend hierfür ist das zwischen West und Ost unterschiedliche Geburtenverhalten. Ein Indikator hierfür ist der Kinderwunsch und die gewünschte Kinderzahl." (Autorenreferat)

Una gran part de guies visuals de viatge i plànols turístics que es publiquen avui en dia incorporen en la representació de ciutats, itineraris i edificis l'ús de perspectives paral·leles (isometria, axonometries: perspectiva cavallera, militar, transobliqua) aportant en aquestes imatges gran quantitat d'informació espacial i mètrica de manera instantània. L'elecció d'aquest llenguatge gràfic respon a característiques formals i funcionals que s'han configurat com les més adequades a través de segles d'evolució i les solucions convergeixen, entre d'altres camps, des: la pràctica pictòrica, la representació del territori i l'enginyeria civil i militar així com de l'arquitectura. En aquesta contribució, s'analitza a través d'una selecció d'exemples, l'evolució històrica dels sistemes de representació vinculats al "retrat de la ciutat" i les diferents resolucions de les que se serveixen fonamentalment els artistes per generar en l'espectador la il·lusió espacial de les arquitectures i els seus elements més característics: muralles, torres, catedrals, ponts, edificis singulars . En aquest ampli recorregut on s'aniran consolidant les normes que regeixen els diferents sistemes representatius, les solucions són en molts casos híbrides, fins a la seva formulació com a llenguatges gràfics: mentre que la perspectiva cònica queda teoritzada per LB Alberti en 1435, la perspectiva isomètrica es postula per W. Farish en 1822. Així, en les representacions és comú l'ús de la projecció cònica en les corografies i panorames de ciutats en l'àmbit dels "pintors de mapes" amb magnífics exemples al segle XVI, mentre que la perspectiva paral·lela (soldadesca o militar) es consolida en el camp de l'enginyeria i l'arquitectura (present en els tractats d'enginyeria des de mitjan segle XV). I són múltiples els exemples on la presència de determinades llicències permet sistemes projectius diferents i solucions mixtes adequant la representació a l'efecte de conjunt o al ressalt d'elements significatius per sobre d'altres. En aquest ampli recorregut on s'aniran consolidant les normes que regeixen els diferents sistemes representatius, les solucions són en molts casos híbrides, fins a la seva formulació com a llenguatges gràfics: mentre que la perspectiva cònica queda teoritzada per L.B. Alberti en 1435, la perspectiva isomètrica es postula per W. Farish en 1822 El bagatge històric de la perspectiva paral·lela es remunta als orígens dels sistemes de representació en el seu desenvolupament com a llenguatge gràfic. El curs de la història ha vinculat tradicionalment les perspectives paral·leles amb representacions de caràcter tècnic, donada la seva funcionalitat, en camps com: l'arquitectura, l'enginyeria civil i militar, la tècnica i els oficis, aportant a la visualització immediata la gran avantatge de la conservació proporcional de les mesures. Mentre que, per a aquelles representacions de caràcter més òptic, la perspectiva del pintor, la perspectiva cònica, s'ha conformat com el sistema més afí l'experiència visual de l'espectador i històricament, a partir de la seva formulació teòrica en el Renaixement a través d'L.B. Alberti, es va convertir en el llenguatge hegemònic del món occidental. Les denominacions que designen la perspectives paral·leles reflecteixen, per contrast, la preponderància de la representació cònica i arriben fins i tot a acusar certa connotació negativa: perspectives anòmales, pre-perspectives, antiperspectives, perspectiva invertida . que s'uneixen a les denominacions més antigues: prospettiva soldatesca, prospettiva piu comune, prospettiva militare i que, finalment es consoliden al llarg del segle XIX: perspectiva isomètrica, axonometria, transobliqua,. (Sent rebutjades fins i tot pels pintors en dates recents fins a la seva relectura per les avantguardes històriques). No obstant això, en la representació de les ciutats, la perspectiva paral·lela s'ha consolidat com un recurs eficaç donat el seu caràcter descriptiu al costat del funcional que implica la correspondència de mesures entre el dibuix i la realitat representada. En aquesta contribució, s'analitza a través d'una selecció d'exemples, l'evolució històrica dels sistemes de representació vinculats al "retrat de la ciutat" i les diferents resolucions de les que se serveixen els artistes per generar en l'espectador la il·lusió espacial de les arquitectures i els seus elements més característics: muralles, torres, catedrals, ponts, edificis singulars . En esta contribución, se analiza a través de una selección de ejemplos, la evolución histórica de los sistemas de representación vinculados al "retrato de la ciudad" y las diferentes resoluciones de las que se sirven fundamentalmente los artistas para generar en el espectador la ilusión espacial de las arquitecturas y sus elementos más característicos: murallas, torres, catedrales, puentes, edificios singulares…En este amplio recorrido donde se irán consolidando las normas que rigen los distintos sistemas representativos, las soluciones son en muchos casos híbridas, hasta su formulación como lenguajes gráficos: mientras que la perspectiva cónica queda teorizada por L. B. Alberti en 1435, la perspectiva isométrica se postula por W. Farish en 1822.Así, en las representaciones es común el uso de la proyección cónica en las corografías y panoramas de ciudades en el ámbito de los "pintores de mapas" con magníficos ejemplos en el siglo XVI, mientras que la perspectiva paralela (soldadesca o militar) se afianza en el campo de la ingeniería y la arquitectura (presente en los tratados de ingeniería desde mediados del siglo XV). Y son múltiples los ejemplos donde la presencia de determinadas licencias permite sistemas proyectivos diferentes y soluciones mixtas adecuando la representación al efecto de conjunto o al resalte de elementos significativos por encima de otros. El bagaje histórico de la perspectiva paralela se remonta a los orígenes de los sistemas de representación en su desarrollo como lenguaje gráfico. El curso de la historia ha vinculado tradicionalmente las perspectivas paralelas con representaciones de carácter técnico, dada su funcionalidad, en campos como: la arquitectura, la ingeniería civil y militar, la técnica y los oficios, aportando a la visualización inmediata la gran ventaja de la conservación proporcional de las medidas. Mientras que, para aquellas representaciones de carácter más óptico, la perspectiva del pintor, la perspectiva cónica, se ha conformado como el sistema más afín la experiencia visual del espectador e históricamente, a partir de su formulación teórica en el Renacimiento a través de L.B. Alberti, se convirtió en el lenguaje hegemónico del mundo occidental. Las denominaciones que designan la perspectivas paralelas reflejan, por contraste, la preponderancia de la representación cónica y llegan incluso a acusar cierta connotación negativa: perspectivas anómalas, pre-perspectivas, antiperspectivas, perspectiva invertida… que se unen a las denominaciones más antiguas: prospettiva soldatesca, prospettiva piu comune, prospettiva militare y que, finalmente se consolidan a lo largo del siglo XIX: perspectiva isométrica, axonometría, transoblícua, . (Siendo rechazadas incluso por los pintores en fechas recientes hasta su relectura por las Vanguardias históricas).Sin embargo, en la representación de las ciudades, la perspectiva paralela se ha consolidado como un recurso eficaz dado su carácter descriptivo junto al funcional que implica la correspondencia de medidas entre el dibujo y la realidad representada.En esta contribución, se analiza a través de una selección de ejemplos, la evolución histórica de los sistemas de representación vinculados al "retrato de la ciudad" y las diferentes resoluciones de las que se sirven los artistas para generar en el espectador la ilusión espacial de las arquitecturas y sus elementos más característicos: murallas, torres, catedrales, puentes, edificios singulares… Son tomados en consideración referentes de pintura mural de tradición helénica, ejemplos de carácter más orientalizante vinculados al arte bizantino, suponiendo un importante punto de inflexión la aparición de la escuela sienesa en Italia desde el siglo XIV como es el caso de Ambrogio Lorenzetti y su "Alegoría del buen gobierno" (1338-1340), la "Città sul il mare" de S. G. Sasetta (1420-5 ca.), la "Veduta de Venezia" de Jacopo di Barbari (1500), la transición hacia las Plataformas como la de Granada realizada por Ambrosio de Vico (1614) o el Plano de Madrid de Texeira (1654-6).Mientras que la teorización del procedimiento pasa por las obras teóricas de G. Maggi y J. Castriotto (1538), B. Lorini (1596), Jean du Breuil (1642), Abraham Bosse (1665), Vicente Tosca (1707-15) conducen finalmente a la publicación del "On Isometrical Perspective" por William Farish en 1822 que se difunde gracias a las aportaciones de T. Soptwith, J. Jopling, G. Codazza y Q. da Sella. Mientras que la axonometría es desarrollada por Weisbach, 1844 en "Die Monodimetrishe und axonometrische projectionsmethode".La representación de la ciudad plantea un importante equilibrio entre la diferencia que supone representar para ver y representar para conocer.

Una gran part de guies visuals de viatge i plànols turístics que es publiquen avui en dia incorporen en la representació de ciutats, itineraris i edificis l'ús de perspectives paral·leles (isometria, axonometries: perspectiva cavallera, militar, transobliqua) aportant en aquestes imatges gran quantitat d'informació espacial i mètrica de manera instantània.
